A Powerful Partnership
St1 Biokraft is a joint venture between St1, HitecVision, and Aneo, combining expertise and resources to drive innovation in the biogas sector. Our goal is to become a leading integrated biogas provider in the Nordics, making a meaningful contribution to the energy transition. We operate across the entire biogas value chain – from feedstock sourcing to production, certification, trading, distribution, and end-user sales – with a target of 3 TWh biomethane production and 6 TWh biomethane sales by 2030, focusing on heavy transport, maritime, and industrial applications.
More than EUR 1 billion is being invested in biogas infrastructure across the Nordics to support this ambitious growth. Certification and regulatory compliance are central to this expansion – and that’s where you come in.
Operations Technician – Mechanical Maintenance, St1 Biokraft, Södertörn
We are now looking for an Operations Technician with a focus on mechanical maintenance for our biogas plant in Södertörn. You will join a dedicated team where technology, responsibility, and sustainability go hand in hand – and where every day brings a chance to make a real contribution to a greener future.
About the role
As Operations Technician, you will work closely with your colleagues in the daily operation of the plant, with specific responsibility for mechanical maintenance. You will play a key role in ensuring that the facility operates efficiently, safely, and with high technical availability.
The work is varied – some days you’ll focus on long-term, planned maintenance, while others may involve troubleshooting and quick action to resolve urgent issues. You’ll switch between hands-on work in the plant and contributing to strategic discussions on improvement and optimisation.
When needed, you will also support other areas of operations, maintenance, and facility management. Participation in the plant’s on-call duty roster is included.
Your responsibilities include:
- Operate production facilities within the business area.
- Manage and organise the plant’s workshop.
- Together with the maintenance engineer, oversee spare parts inventory and availability.
- Contribute to the development of maintenance strategies that balance operational reliability and cost efficiency.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant and auxiliary equipment.
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis, primarily in technical systems and installations.
- Participate in and drive improvement and modification projects together with the team.
- Act as a point of contact for external suppliers and partners, both nationally and internationally.
- Take part in the plant’s emergency preparedness organisation.
About you
You have several years of experience in operations and maintenance, preferably within the process or energy industry. You hold a relevant technical education or have gained equivalent experience through practical work. If you have a strong background in mechanical maintenance and are ready to take on broader responsibility, this role will suit you well.
You are used to working independently and taking ownership of your tasks, but you also value collaboration and teamwork. You can shift between operational work and more strategic, proactive initiatives and are driven by finding long-term solutions rather than quick fixes.
Being unpretentious and team-oriented is key to thriving here – sharing knowledge and lending a hand wherever needed is part of the culture.
We believe you
- Are responsible, structured, and have a strong technical interest.
- Enjoy collaboration and contributing to a strong, supportive team.
- Have good analytical skills and can translate technical insights into practical solutions.
- Like to improve and develop ways of working.
- Are flexible regarding working hours and can participate in on-call duty.
- Communicate clearly in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- You have a driving license and a car, as it´s challenging to come to our plant
