Our ambition is to become the leading integrated biogas player in the Nordics, playing a pivotal role in the energy transition. We cover the entire biogas value chain, from feedstock sourcing to distribution and end-user sales. We aim to achieve 3 TWh biomethane production and 6 TWh biomethane sales by 2030, with a focus on heavy transport, maritime, and industrial applications.

To support this ambitious expansion, we are committed to investing over EUR 1 billion in biogas production and distribution networks across the Nordics, with several major projects underway.

Business Controller – Upstream Production

Are you a dynamic financial professional eager to take on a challenging and versatile role in renewable energy production? St1 Biokraft is seeking a Business Controller Upstream Production to play a vital role in driving financial excellence within our Upstream Production unit. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with leaders across the organization, providing strategic financial support to enhance business performance.

About the Role:
As a Business Controller, you will be deeply involved in the financial operations of our Upstream Production activities. You will oversee financial planning, reporting, and operational analysis, acting as a key business partner to production teams. This role requires a hands-on approach and a strong drive to optimize financial processes in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Location: Stockholm, WTC. We offer a Hybrid Office possibility. You will report to the Head of Business Control & Planning, and you will also work close to the Asset & Production (A&P) management team and support the Senior Business Controller Upstream – who is a member of the A&P team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monthly Closing & Reporting: Manage monthly and quarterly closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for the production unit.

• Financial Monitoring: Oversee and analyze income, expenses (including maintenance costs), KPIs, and volumes to ensure efficient financial management.

• Project Controlling: Manage project-related CapEx follow-ups for current assets and pipeline projects.

• Cash Flow Planning: Develop and monitor short- and long-term cash flow plans aligned with Life of Assets.

• Business Partnering: Provide financial support and strategic advice to production teams, ensuring data-driven decision-making.

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budget process and regular forecast updates for the production unit, incorporating long-term asset lifecycle planning.

• Subsidy Applications: Support in the preparation and application processes for biogas subsidies.

Additional Responsibilities (20%):

• Perform ad hoc tasks across the finance function to address emerging priorities.

• Contribute to the streamlining and digitization of financial reporting, processes, and routines to drive operational efficiency.

Who We’re Looking For:

• Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum 3+ years in auditing, accounting, controlling, or similar financial roles, with proven expertise in production finance.

• Skills: Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI is an advantage.

• Languages: Proficiency in English and Swedish; Finnish language skills are an advantage.

• Mindset: A strategic and analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of business operations.

• Personal Attributes: Curious, eager to learn, collaborative, and a true team player with a proactive approach to challenges.
