Senior Business Controller Value Chain & Dowstream – St1 Biokraft AB

St1 Biokraft is looking for a Senior Business Controller Value Chain & Downstream to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving the financial performance of our Value Chain and Downstream business.

About the Role:

As a Senior Business Controller, you will hold a versatile and impactful role, working across departments and projects. Collaborating closely with the finance team and company leaders, you will act as a trusted advisor, providing guidance on investments, financial management, and business improvement initiatives. This position reports directly to the Head of Business Control & Planning and serves as a key partner in shaping the financial strategy for the Value Chain and Downstream business.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of monthly closing processes, including monthly and quarterly financial reporting for parts of the Value Chain and Downstream business in the Nordics (mainly Sweden).

• Monitor and control income, expenses (including maintenance costs), KPIs, and volumes to ensure financial health and operational efficiency.

• Lead project controlling efforts, including CapEx follow-ups for both current assets and pipeline projects within your dedicated business area.

• Develop and manage cash flow planning (short- and long-term) to support Life of Assets.

• Act as a financial advisor and business partner, providing guidance and support to your assigned business area.

• Lead the annual budgeting process and forecast updates, incorporating Life of Assets into financial planning.

• Support subsidy applications for biogas projects, ensuring compliance with requirements.

10% of the Role Will Include:

• Perform ad hoc tasks across the finance function to address emerging needs.

• Assist in streamlining and digitizing financial reporting, routines, and processes to drive efficiency and innovation.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual with the following qualifications:

• A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• 7+ years of experience in auditing, accounting, controlling, or similar roles, with a focus on operational finance.

• Strong interest in process improvement and efficiency.

• Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI is a significant advantage.

• Proficiency in both Swedish and English is required.

• A strategic and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.

• Solid business acumen and the ability to connect financial analysis to operational decisions.

• Curiosity and eagerness to learn and innovate in a dynamic environment.

• A collaborative team player who thrives in cross-functional settings.
