A Powerful Partnership
St1 Biokraft is a joint venture between St1, HitecVision, and Aneo, combining expertise and resources to drive innovation in the biomethane sector. Our goal is to become the leading integrated biomethane provider in the Nordics, playing a vital role in the energy transition. We cover the whole value chain—from feedstock sourcing to distribution and end-customer sales—with a strong emphasis on industrial applications.
To enable this growth, we are investing over EUR 1 billion in biomethane production and distribution infrastructure across the Nordics, with several large-scale projects already in progress.
S&OP Lead – Build and Own the Biogas Value Chain Planning
St1 Biokraft is a leading Nordic producer and distributor of biogas (CBG/LBG). We are expanding fast across Sweden, Norway and Finland – building new sites, signing new contracts and strengthening our role in the green transition. To support this growth, we are now seeking an S&OP Lead to build our Sales & Operations Planning process from the ground up and become the “spider in the web” for our entire biogas value chain. The position is based in our office in Stockholm or Malmö.
About the Role
In this role, you join the Value Chain Operations team and report to the Head of Value Chain Operations. Your mission is simple to describe but challenging and rewarding to deliver; you will design, implement and run the S&OP process for St1 Biokraft – from the first sketch in Excel to a fully embedded way of working.
You start from a relatively blank sheet. Today, a lot of planning happens in people’s heads and in local spreadsheets. Your job is to bring structure, transparency and predictability. You define how we plan volumes and flows across feedstock, production, portfolio, sales, stations and logistics, and how we connect this to margins and customer commitments.
A key element of this is our Proof of Sustainability (POS) work. As part of the S&OP process, you help decide which POS certificates should be allocated to which customers in the most optimal way from a margin, volume and sustainability perspective. Based on these decisions, you will also have hands-on responsibility for issuing POS to customers, estimated at around 15% of your time. This creates a tight link between planning, commercial optimisation and how we document the sustainability performance of our products.
Once the overall process is in place, you lead the monthly S&OP cycle and, over time, a weekly planning rhythm. You are not the one selling, trading, or booking trucks – but you are the person who ensures that everyone plans from the same numbers, looks at the same scenarios, and leaves the room with clear decisions.
What You Will Do
On a typical month, you alternate between designing and refining the process, working hands-on with data and models, and leading cross-functional discussions.
You will build and maintain the S&OP models, initially in Excel, that link contracts, volumes, capacities, logistics constraints and margins. You define what data is needed, who provides it and when it needs to be ready. Before each S&OP meeting, you consolidate input, run scenarios and prepare transparent decision material that highlights imbalances and trade-offs. In the meetings, you ensure that the right people are present, that trade-offs are clearly highlighted, and that the group reaches concrete decisions with named owners and follow-up actions. When decisions cannot be taken at the S&OP level, you escalate to the Head of Value Chain Operations, to whom you will also report.
As part of linking S&OP with our sustainability work, you also support the allocation and issuance of POS. When the S&OP process has defined which volumes and attributes are to be matched with which customers, you make sure the corresponding POS are prepared and issued correctly, in line with our frameworks and customer expectations.
Over the first year, the focus will be on establishing S&OP for LBG on a monthly horizon, then moving towards weekly planning. As the process matures, you will extend it to CBG, re-using what works and adapting where needed. Along the way, you will identify opportunities to automate, improve data quality, and, in time, explore more advanced planning systems.
What You Bring
We imagine that you have a background in S&OP, supply chain planning, or operational planning, with at least 5 years of experience in a production, energy, process industry, FMCG, or logistics environment. You are used to working close to operations, but with a clear view of the commercial and financial impact of planning decisions.
You enjoy working with data and models. Excel is a natural tool for you, and you like to build structures that make complex flows and constraints easier to grasp. At the same time, you are pragmatic: you know that data is never perfect, and you are comfortable making and documenting reasonable assumptions rather than waiting for a “perfect” dataset.
Experience from sustainability-related processes – such as certification schemes, traceability, greenhouse gas calculations or similar – is a clear plus. It will help you understand the context around POS and how sustainability aspects tie into commercial optimisation and customer deliveries.
You are a strong communicator and facilitator. Leading cross-functional meetings does not scare you; instead, you see it as an opportunity to connect perspectives and create alignment. You can explain complex analyses in simple terms, and you are not afraid to ask for decisions when they are needed.
Fluency in English is required, and Swedish or another Nordic language is a plus.
Our Culture and How You Fit In
At St1 Biokraft we like to say that we are one team with one dream, working towards one result. Our values are important to us, and in this role, you will have plenty of opportunities to live them in practice:
You Be Collaborative by working across sites, functions and countries, supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge so that we succeed together.
You Be Open by being curious, transparent and eager to learn, embracing change and engaging in honest, constructive dialogue when things do not work as planned.
You Be Commercial by thinking and acting like an entrepreneur: your models and recommendations support fast, fact-based decisions that balance risk and reward and drive sustainable growth.
You Be the Expert by taking ownership of the S&OP process and the linked POS work, staying close to operations, and continuously building your capabilities to deliver high-quality in everything you do.
If you recognise yourself in this, you will likely thrive with us.
Why Join St1 Biokraft?
By joining St1 Biokraft, you get the chance to play a central role in shaping the future value chain processes of a fast-growing Nordic energy company. You will work across the entire biogas value chain – from feedstock and production to trading, sales, stations and logistics – and see the direct impact of your work on profitability, customer satisfaction and sustainability. You also get to build something from scratch. Few roles offer the same combination of hands-on modelling, process design, sustainability-related allocation work (POS) and business impact, all in a context where the demand for sustainable energy solutions is growing rapidly.
