The aim is to become a leading integrated biogas player in the Nordics, contributing significantly to the energy transition. The company covers the entire biogas value chain, from feedstock sourcing to distribution and end-user sales, with a goal to achieve 3 TWh biomethane production and 6 TWh biomethane sales by 2030, focusing on heavy transport, maritime, and industrial applications.

Over 1 billion EUR will be allocated to biogas production and distribution networks across the Nordics to facilitate this growth. Several significant projects are underway to enhance the infrastructure and boost operations to meet ambitious targets.

As the Head of Value Chain Operations, you will play a central role in shaping our operational capabilities – from production to distribution and customer delivery. You will lead a team of professionals and ensure seamless, cost-efficient, and sustainable operations throughout the entire value chain.

Your Responsibilities:

As Head of Value Chain Operations, you will be responsible for the entire operational flow from suppliers to end customers. The role includes capacity planning, grid fee optimisation and logistics related to gas/methane and mobile storage. You ensure timely and accurate deliveries, high customer satisfaction and strong relationships with suppliers and contractors.

The role has a clear commercial dimension. You hold P&L responsibility for the operational part of the value chain and make data-driven decisions that balance cost, efficiency and customer value, both in daily operations and long-term planning.

Collaborating closely with the trading and portfolio teams, you support business case development and identify new gas sourcing opportunities. You also work with commercial teams on pricing models, contract structures and volume planning – all contributing to the strategic growth of St1 Biokraft’s business portfolio.

Compliance and sustainability are integral to the role. You ensure operations meet ADR, safety, tax, and environmental regulations and collaborate closely with the sustainability team to support decarbonisation efforts. Risk management, internal and external reporting, and incident follow-up (IA systems) are within your scope, ensuring a robust and forward-looking value chain.

What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you likely hold a Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations. You have a proven track record of leadership and implementing change in complex environments, combined with a strong operational understanding and a strategic mindset.

You are analytical and data-driven, confident working with tools such as Excel, Power BI, and ERP systems (Business Central is a plus). You also bring experience in logistics optimisation and are well-versed in regulatory frameworks, including ADR, customs, and environmental legislation. Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in Swedish is considered an advantage.
