We aim to achieve 3 TWh biomethane production and 6 TWh biomethane sales by 2030, with a focus on heavy transport, maritime, and industrial applications.

Senior Business Controller Upstream & JV - St1 Biokraft AB

St1 Biokraft is now looking for a  Business Controller to make a significant impact and contribute to our journey toward a more sustainable future.

About the Role:

As a Business Controller Upstream & JV at St1 Biokraft, you will be responsible for supporting and developing financial and operational analyses for our Upstream operations and Joint Venture Suomen Lantakaasu. You will navigate the complexities of multiple biogas development and execution projects with subsidiary structures where balancing the intricacies of the balance sheet and financing requires sharp analytical skills.

This role is strategically vital to strengthening the connection between operations and the finance function, and you will play a key role in further developing our financial processes and supporting investments in large-scale biogas projects.

Responsibilities:

· Budgeting and Forecasting: Take ownership of budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with project development teams.

· Cost Analysis: Develop and analyze cost structures, identify risks, and find opportunities for cost savings.

· Financial Planning and Reporting: Create and refine financial reports and KPIs to support strategic decisions.

· Investment Grant Reporting: Manage required reporting and payment notifications for investment grants.

· Process Development: Build efficient financial processes in close collaboration with the finance teams of parent companies.

· Collaboration: Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including the finance and procurement teams of parent companies.

· Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks while ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.

· Audit Support: Participate in audits and support the preparation of financial statements.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are seeking someone who has:

· A master’s degree in Finance or Accounting.

· At least 5 years of experience in a senior-level controller role, preferably within the energy sector or a similar industry.

· A strong foundation in accounting, project controlling, and experience in financing structures and balance sheet management.

· An analytical and business-oriented mindset with the ability to manage complex issues without losing sight of details.

· Excellent communication and presentation skills.

· Fluency in English and Finnish; proficiency in Swedish is an advantage. Knowledge of other Nordic languages is a plus.

· Advanced skills in Excel and experience with ERP systems.

Location: Stockholm/Helsinki. We offer a Hybrid Office possibility. You will report to the Head of Business Control & Planning, who aims to build the sharpest controller team on the market.
