A Powerful Partnership
St1 Biokraft is a joint venture between St1, HitecVision, and Aneo. We combine our expertise and resources to foster innovation in the biogas sector. We aim to become the leading integrated biogas company in the Nordics and to play a crucial role in the green transition. We manage the entire value chain—from sourcing feedstock to distribution and end-user sales. Our target is to produce 3 TWh of biomethane and achieve 6 TWh of sales by 2030, with a focus on heavy transport, maritime, and industrial sectors.
We are dedicated to investing over EUR 1 billion in biogas production and distribution infrastructure across the Nordics to support this growth. Several large-scale projects are already underway.
Senior Accountant (Finnish-speaking), St1 Biokraft – Stockholm
Do you want to assume a key role in a purpose-driven and entrepreneurial organisation? In this position, you will be responsible for hands-on accounting and financial reporting for our Finnish legal entities. You will work both operationally and strategically, playing a vital role in bringing the accounting for our Finnish operations in-house and building a robust financial function to support our rapid growth.
About the Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will be part of an experienced and dedicated finance team based at the St1 Biokraft office at WTC, reporting to the Head of Accounting & Tax in Sweden. Your primary focus will be our Finnish biogas entities – starting with our Finnish sales company and, over time, including project and production companies developed together with our partners.
You will manage daily accounting, reconciliations, and closing activities independently while also contributing to the development of our financial processes and routines. An essential part of the role will be to drive the transition from an external accounting provider in Finland to an efficient in-house set-up. Also, you'll be involved in our system transformation initiative as we plan to roll out Business Central across all joint ventures and subsidiaries to create a harmonised ERP landscape.
Main responsibilities
In this role, you will, for example:
Manage and take full responsibility for daily accounting for one or more Finnish legal entities
Prepare and compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with local requirements and group standards
Ensure accurate reporting of tax, VAT and other statutory obligations in Finland
Coordinate with external accounting and audit partners during the transition to in-house accounting
Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis for the Finnish entities
Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance in reporting
Act as the primary finance contact for our Finnish operations, building strong relationships with stakeholders in both Finland and Sweden
Support the Head of Accounting & Tax in developing accounting processes, routines and systems
Contribute to building in-house expertise in consolidation and COGNOS
What we're looking for
To be successful in this role, we believe you have
A university degree in finance, accounting or similar
Approximately 5–7 years of experience from qualified accounting roles, preferably in an international or Nordic group
Solid hands-on experience with Finnish bookkeeping and statutory financial reporting
Good understanding of Finnish tax, VAT and other local compliance requirements
Experience from group reporting, knowledge of Swedish GAAP (K3), and/or consolidation is an advantage
Proficiency in modern accounting systems, preferably Business Central
A structured, self-driven and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently and still be a strong team player
Strong analytical skills and a high sense of responsibility and integrity
If you have experience in consolidation and/or COGNOS, that is a strong advantage, as we are keen to strengthen our internal capabilities in this area
You are comfortable navigating Finnish authorities and local regulations while working daily in an English-speaking environment within a Swedish-based team.
