Our ambition is to become the leading integrated biogas player in the Nordics, playing a pivotal role in the energy transition. We cover the entire biogas value chain, from feedstock sourcing to distribution and end-user sales. We aim to achieve 3 TWh biomethane production and 6 TWh biomethane sales by 2030, with a focus on heavy transport, maritime, and industrial applications. 

To support this ambitious expansion, we are committed to investing over EUR 1 billion in biogas production and distribution networks across the Nordics, with several major projects underway. 

Head of Business Control, St1 Biokraft AB

St1 Biokraft is seeking a Head of Business Control to lead and develop our Business Control department during an exciting phase of transformation and growth. 

About St1 Biokraft and the Role: 
St1 Biokraft is embarking on an ambitious journey under the leadership of new owners (St1, HitecVision, and Aneo) and a new CFO joining in spring. As we set the foundation for achieving our 2030 goals – including an Annual EBITDA exceeding EUR 200M and capturing 50% of the Nordic biogas market share – the Head of Business Control will play a pivotal role in establishing a best-in-class Business Control department. 

In this position, you will lead a team of seven highly skilled professionals, drive strategic initiatives, and ensure the implementation of robust processes to support our ambitious targets. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will work closely with the executive leadership team to drive financial insights, optimize performance, and ensure alignment with company goals. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the Business Control team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous development. 

• Financial Strategy & Insights: Act as a strategic business partner to executive management, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making and strategy execution. 

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes, ensuring alignment with company objectives and delivering actionable insights. 

• KPI & Reporting Development: Develop, implement, and monitor KPIs, financial metrics, and performance reporting to track and achieve financial goals. 

• Process Improvement: Drive improvements in financial control and reporting processes, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness. 

• CapEx Management: Lead the implementation of a new process for CapEx reporting and follow-up for St1 Biokraft. 

• System Implementation: Kick off the project to implement a new management reporting system for St1 Biokraft. 

• Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, internal controls, and best practices. 

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work across departments to support cost management initiatives, evaluate investment opportunities, and develop an operating model for the new Business Control department.  

Who We’re Looking For: 

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader who has: 

• A master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. 

• 15+ years of experience in auditing, accounting, controlling, or similar roles, ideally within a production-oriented business. 

• Proven experience in leading high-performing teams and driving change in dynamic and fast-paced environments. 

• Expertise in process improvement and a track record of enhancing efficiency in financial systems and reporting. 

• Advanced skills in financial systems and Excel; experience with other tools like Power BI is an advantage. 

• Fluency in both Swedish and English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders at all levels. 

• A strategic and analytical mindset, capable of translating complex data into actionable insights. 

• Strong business acumen and a proactive approach to achieving ambitious goals.
