There are few challenges as important today as creating solutions that support a cleaner, more energy-efficient world. This requires a commitment to constantly improve the transportation of people and things. We, at BorgWarner, made that commitment decades ago and have since been creating technologies to improve efficiency, emissions and performance in all types of vehicles. Our proven track record has made us a propulsion system leader for combustion, hybrid and electric vehicles. We uncover strong trends and use smart science and technology to address a future based on varying regulations, consumer demands and automaker requirements. This makes BorgWarner one of the most successful high tech leaders within the automotive industry, innovating for the cars of the future.
BorgWarner is looking for a Pursuit Lead to drive the process by which we develop customers for our newest electrification technologies.
This is a role for only the most ambitious and self-motivating candidates. There are many existing processes in this industry and in our company, but this role requires delivering results from day one, breaking through existing processes, forging new paths in order to bring the most advanced updates to our European and global partners. Situated somewhere between a traditional product manager and sales, the Pursuit Lead will be the engine that pushes a project through almost every department, interfacing with production teams, supply chains, engineers, customers, and even the most senior management of BorgWarner, all located in various parts of the world.
You will take an RFQ and act as its strongest advocate, making the case for its success along its initial journey in becoming the final customer proposal. It’s critical that you are a strong communicator and are able to extract the customer’s needs, seeing things from their perspective, even if it may not be clear to them at first. Your skills will continue to be needed as you build-up support for the project internally within BorgWarner and pushing it through until the business is awarded.
The candidate who is successful in this position will at the same time have incredibly strong communication skills, be extremely analytical and process oriented, have keen knowledge about engineering, production and supply chains, and experience in gathering support for a project up and down the command structure. The Pursuit Lead must have a preternatural drive for achieving tangible results. This will not be easy, but with success in this very demanding position will come a super hero reputation for being an integral part of BorgWarner’s journey into the future.
Further requirements for this position:
- Around 4-8 years within a product development environment, preferably in a project management role;
- Experience with stakeholder management;
- Extensive experience in cross-functional matrix organizations;
- Experience working globally and cross-culturally;
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, and MBA is a plus;
- Written and verbal fluency in English
