What we are looking for

BorgWarner is looking for a Prototype Buyer with focus on procurement of prototype material and equipment. You will be dealing with the most cutting-edge technology, responsible for hunting down the very best materials that will eventually be used in millions of vehicles around the world. You will have an extremely close relationship with the R&D teams, working with them every step of the way to ensure the very best, most cost-effective, end products leave the factory. 

Further objectives:

  • Development of new and existing prototype suppliers.
  • Sending RFIs/RFQs and making quote comparisons.
  • Benchmarking current suppliers against market.
  • Negotiation of prices and other conditions.
  • Prototype ordering and following up towards project time plan.
  • Material setup and ERP system administration.
  • Establishing non-disclosure agreements with suppliers.
  • Aligning prototype deliveries and costs with the project time plan.
  • Prototype cost estimation.
  • Cost follow up on prototype BOM.
  • Collect, follow up and sign off on prototype quality documentation.
  • Bachelor’s Degree within technical area or corresponding work experience
  • Knowledge of different manufacturing methods
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal.
  • Basic technical understanding and ability to read blueprints.
  • Self-sufficient with experience of cross functional work.
  • Good knowledge in SAP or similar ERP system.

 Further requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree within technical area or corresponding work experience
  • Knowledge of different manufacturing methods
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal.
  • Basic technical understanding and ability to read blueprints.
  • Self-sufficient with experience of cross functional work.
  • Good knowledge in SAP or similar ERP system.
